We didn’t make it to Sabor Escondido. Too bad because it sounds wonderful, especially that corn soup/chowder!
We did find a great restaurant up there though called Il Pianista. We read about it in the Fodor’s book on Panama. It took us several trips up in the mountains to find it but we finally did. The food was good and the location is just beautiful. The next time you are in Boquete, you must go. It will be worth the trip.

Buenos dias Kelly! Make sure you save some time to visit Us next year! I have never been to “Il Pianista”... I’ll make sure to visit it soon! Un abrazote to you and your family,
Melissa

This is about Il Pianista. This place was recommended to me, however, it seems that the owner does not stand kids. We were two couples with our family (5 kids from 5 to 12 years old) and from the time we entered, the owner gave us a bad look and an angry face. They set the table for us, and since we did not fit, we ask to take one table out and that the kids will sit in one table and the parents in another one. The Italian owner just said no, to take off! He was not going to serve us period. I understand that it happened to another family with kids. The hostess, I believe is his wife tried to keep us in, but we left because the guy is the one cooking and we most probably were going to get bad food.
Even if the food is great, the owner is a sad man!

What an opposite experience than what we had. My daughter was treated so nicely. On top of that, the hostess’ daughter popped her head in and my daughter wanted to chat with her and they did. They had a blast and they took pictures with each other. My daughter thinks that it was the best place that we went in Panama. I guess that we came on the right day.
