Does My Blog Look Good In This? Calling All Food Photographers… edit

Dmblgit Welcome to the 14Th edition (2006 #3) of this food blog event. I am honored to be your host, this is actually my first time hosting it and I am truly excited!

The idea behind the event/contest is to give everyone a chance to enjoy some of the best pictures of the month posted on food blogs. There are so many food blogs now and stories are constantly posted that its very easy to miss some great posts and pictures. This event takes us back through the food photos.

If you want to learn about the previous editions of DMBLGIT, head over to IMBB.
The rules are simple, just send us:

  • The link to your favorite photo, published on your blog during the month of February 2006.
  • The name of your blog, your name, and your location (where are you blogging from?)

Only photographs posted to a blog during February 2006 are to be submitted and they must be on a food/drink theme, and taken by you. A team of judges will be assembled and photos will be assessed on aesthetics, eatability and originality. Please e-mail entries to (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) by March the 24th!

Cocinalia’s Online Food Museum edit

My dear SaoMai from Cocinalia, world traveler and consummated art & food lover (like ME!), is the mastermind behind the "Online Food Museum". She invites all food bloggers from all over the world to participate in this FUN, educational and cultural event.

This is a very interesting project that focuses on "Gastronomy" viewed through the eyes of an artist. It consists of four exhibition rooms. Every contribution includes the title, name of the author, blogger's name and blog link.

Now, my contribution:

Clia_f_museum_1 By Georges Villa. He is most famous for his beautiful posters of the 1920's through the 1950's. This "2nd. Exposition, Culinaire et Gastronomique" was held in Paris from December 1st - 30th, 1928. It is beautifully decorated in great detail, showing a female chef, fish, seafood, a rabbit, grape vines and other delicious foods. I love this piece, specially because it also decorates my office!

Villa was a prolific painter, engraver, lithographer and illustrator. He was born in 1883 and died in 1965. Among all Cornet Societe artist, Villa's work show the finest detail and his work represent the most exquisite lithographic detail. He was a member of the Humoristes Societe as well as Chevalier de la Legion d'honneur.

Happy Holidays!

Chef Melissa
